What free means here
Free means a school with up to 150 students can use the school modules without paying. It is not a short trial: there is no trial period to run out. The limit counts active students, so students who have left can be archived.
If you grow past 150 students, the estimate page shows the price for your size before you pay, so there is no surprise later.
What you can do on the free plan
Run the daily work of a school from one place: admissions, attendance, fees, exams, ID cards, certificates, timetable, staff records and notices to parents.
Government and aided schools can switch on the extra modules they need, such as the mid-day meal register, grants and RTE tracking, and leave the fee modules off.
Honest limits
SMS and WhatsApp sending are coming soon and are not available yet. Cometstep is your school's own record system: it does not file anything with a board and it does not replace an official portal.
Start without a big project
Register, add your classes, import your student list from Excel, and start with attendance and fees. Add exams and report cards when you are ready. You do not need to switch everything on the first day.
